Dynamic Microphones:
Try a Shure Microphone

I like to say that "a Shure microphone is a sure microphone". In other words, any microphone made by Shure Incorporated is a dependable microphone that will serve you well. In fact the Shure SM57 and SM58 mics are still the world's top sellers - over 30 years after they were introduced. If you have ever seen a musician performing in concert, he or she was probably singing into an SM57 or SM58 Shure microphone. In addition to wired and wireless microphones for stage and audio, Shure also makes very good audio mixers, DJ needles, and signal processors.

You sing it. You say it. You play it.
We'll help you amplify or record it.
(from the Shure website)

Here are few of the most popular Shure microphones that I recommend for recording your voice. They are all unidirectional, with a cardiod pickup pattern. They are all dynamic microphones (as opposed to condenser microphones) , meaning they don't require any "phantom power" in order to work. However, for best sound reproduction, you should pass them through a pre-amp before plugging into your computer.
